Impressions of Rebel perfume by Franck Boclet

Perfumery is dependent on money, and many outstanding fragrances remain in the shadow of their dull counterparts due to a lack of proper promotion and hype.

These fragrances include perfumes from the fashion house Franck Boclet, in this case the Rebel fragrance.

I bought the fragrance without testing it at the Aromabutik online store purely because the perfume was sold at a significant discount.

After I received the perfume, I realized the discounted item had been put up for a reason. After checking the batch code, I saw that the batch codes were different.

Moreover, when the euphoria passed, I saw that the box was completely warped and already quite worn.

Contacting for feedback had no effect.

Calling the store also yielded no results other than: "They'll call you back."

Interestingly, after I lowered my Yandex review score to one, they called me. Perhaps it was a coincidence.

During the conversation, the manager offered to do a Moneyback, but I had no desire to deal with Russian Post, so I refused.

It also turned out that perfumes generally arrive in the Russian Federation unassembled, meaning the boxes are shipped separately, the bottles are shipped separately, and hired people package the goods themselves once they're in Russia.

I've always wondered why the cellophane film on boxes from the same line varies. It's probably because the film used for packaging in Russia is sourced from different manufacturers.

Accordingly, the quality of the packaging and everything inside remains unknown to the buyer. For example, I am buying a pig in a poke and I cannot be sure that something cannot happen at the packaging stage.

I will move on to describing what came to me.

The perfume is bottled in an elegant black bottle with a metal label and cap, which gives it a pleasant, solid weight.

The metal lid has an engraved monogram on the top. Interestingly, the monogram is engraved rather than cast or stamped, indicating the high cost of the materials.

There are no markings on the spray nozzle.

The nameplate is attached with double-sided tape, but it is not warped and holds well.

This photo clearly shows that it has a unique tint.

The concentration of the perfume is simply excellent and genuine, it contains only 60% alcohol.

The longevity of the perfume is simply colossal – the scent develops not within minutes, as with Arab perfumes, but over several hours. The perfume easily lasts for 8-10 hours of intense work, changing its intensity from a frenzied initial intensity to a pleasant one within an hour or two.

This rivet is well known to those who have bought Chinese pins on marketplaces.

Interestingly, the lot number is not verified either on the bottle or on the box.

Based on this, the probability that the boxes and bottles were simply mixed up during packaging tends to zero.

Despite these unpleasant moments, I liked the scent so much that I decided to keep the bottle.

It reminded me of the scent of Bulgarian rose, which was sold in the USSR in a small wooden jug containing a glass measuring cup of a couple of milliliters.

There is, of course, a difference: Franck Boclet Rebel is a powerful and rich fragrance, and the rose notes add weight to the moss and oud. Interestingly, the fragrance unfolds differently in different conditions and differs from the official pyramid and the one found on Fragrantica. For example, sometimes a powerful, heavy rose-moss block appears first, followed by a pleasant vanilla and patchouli block, and as the night approaches, saffron and oud emerge.

The scent is certainly not unique, but it is so well assembled and manufactured that it is worth the money spent on it 200%.

Who is this perfume for? As the name suggests, Rebel is suitable for both men and women who don't have a "grandmother" complex. It's important to understand that it's best to apply the fragrance with one spray to the back of the neck or two sprays to the back of the knees, otherwise it can be overpowering.

This fragrance isn't for every day, but for special occasions or when your soul calls. In my opinion, this is the niche right now, not the weak Nasomatto fragrances with mediocre longevity, like those watering cans, for every day.
