I bought Seductive Cinnamon perfume by Gerini after I ran out of patience while searching for a long-lasting perfume among Arabic perfumes.
Of course, there are some long-lasting scents among Arabic perfumes, but they are not suitable for everyday wear. For example, French Avenue Azzure Aoud by Fragrance World Perfumes, but such a niche fragrance can hardly be considered an everyday wear.
The perfume comes in a sturdy craft box, which in my opinion is more interesting than boxes with horse heads and speckles.
On the bottom of the box, a safety notice is included, along with a brief excerpt:
In a world where luxury perfumes are manufactured in factories and sold through mass advertising campaigns, creating a sense of uniqueness while millions of bottles are sold every day, GERINI believes the time has come for guaranteed authenticity. All GERINI perfumes are of the highest quality and are handcrafted to order.
This perfume has undergone a safety assessment and complies with the safety standards set by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Union Cosmetics Directive. GERINI is committed to providing products that are safe for the consumer and the environment and complies with IFRA regulations, ensuring compliance with the IFRA "Skin Contact and Leave-In Care" guidelines.
The box is sealed with thick paper containing all the necessary text.
The Seductive Cinnamon perfume pyramid is listed immediately:
Woody, warm spicy, ambery
TOP NOTES
Cognac.
HEART NOTES
Oak absolute, cinnamon, tonka bean absolute.
BASE NOTES
Sandalwood, praline, vanilla.
INGREDIENTS:
ALCOHOL DENAT. 70% VOL., AQUA, PARFUM, CINNAMON, BENZYL ALCOHOL, ETHYLHEXYL METHOXYCINNAMATE, ETHYLHEXYL SALICY-LATE, CITRONELLOL, GERANIOL.
As we can see, the alcohol content is only 70%, which is consistent with modern perfumes (in the 20th century, the term "perfume" meant a different consistency).
Despite the Italian brand, the perfume is made in France.
I couldn't find a way to check the batch code. The QR code simply leads to a website page.
There is a large amount of paper inside the box to protect it from light.
The paper contains a bag with the logo and name of the company and the inscription EXTRAIT DE PARFUM, which also indicates that this is a concentrate.
The sticker is attached with double-sided tape. On my bottle, it had peeled off.
On the back of the bottle the glass has the company name Guerini.
At the bottom of the bottle, the glass has the company logo and the number 5.
An inscription is engraved around the bottom.
I couldn’t find any numbers to check the batch code anywhere in the inscription or on the bottom of the bottle.
The bottle cap has an imitation wood finish, or maybe it is actually made of wood.
The cap simply comes off the bottle without any clicks or threads.
The company logo is inside the cap. Probably because the manufacturers went to such lengths with the bottle, counterfeiting this perfume is pointless, so there's no additional verification of authenticity.
After applying to a blotter, a greasy stain remains, indicating a high oil content. Interestingly, these perfumes, unlike Arabic perfumes, which don't develop on paper, change their scent on the blotter.
Personally, I initially detect a scent identical to Alhambra's Smoked Oud & Vanilla. That is, initially, an intense aroma of bread with citrus spices, then the Gerini scent transitions to a scent of home brew and oud with cinnamon, and then to the aroma of citrus juice with spices. The oud becomes unnoticeable, becoming more European. Alhambra's fragrance continues to pound with its opening notes from beginning to end, with variations of oud and musk.
Vanilla is present throughout. By the end, the fragrance becomes a cohesive sound, making it difficult to distinguish any individual notes. It's like Tom Ford's Tobacco and Vanilla—it has a solid, pleasant finish that's hard to pinpoint, but pleasant and easily recognizable.
The scent's longevity after travel is not great: one hour of sillage and a couple of hours of solid lingering on the skin. On a blotter, the scent not only lasts for a day but also fully develops.
Considering that Gerini's Seductive Cinnamon is available as a perfume, and is handcrafted at a very reasonable price, I highly recommend it.
