One review of this perfume said it smelled like a cross between Tom Ford and a gel pen dripping onto a leather jacket.

I couldn't resist the magic words of Tom Ford, and the scent of leather with a gel pen, so I bought them at the World of Arabic Perfumes store on OZON.

Unfortunately, the joy of the purchase was marred by the fact that the seller sent me a broken box.

It's impossible to blame it on delivery - the Ozon package is intact.

The seller was the last of the perfume. They probably saw that the box was damaged and didn't send it, but greed got the better of them. It's a shame the seller did this, even if it was the last bottle.

Why am I focusing so much on this? This is the seller's attitude not only toward the customer, but also toward their product. Look at how carefully and lovingly the Star of Morocco stores package their products.

In other words, the Arabian splendor of the World of Arabian Perfumes store is only in name.

When I read reviews from other buyers of this perfume, I couldn't understand why the packaging of Afnan's Abstract Portrait perfume was so rave. A box is a box, I thought, what's wrong with that? However, Abstract Portrait is one of those things that looks plain on the outside, and only when you pick it up does the pleasant sensation of heaviness and high-quality materials wash over you.

It's not just embossed with a cool black square in the center—it's a smooth sticker on the rough texture of the box material.

Unfortunately, these perfumes also lack counterfeit protection. The hologram on the back of the box is useless—the Chinese can churn out thousands of them every day.

The batch number also doesn't tell you anything. As you can see, the perfume contains 80% alcohol, which hardly qualifies it as a perfume, unlike Ahmed Al Maghribi Frost Ice by Ahmed Perfume Manufacturing L.L.C., which has an alcohol content of only 61.2%.

The bottle also seemed strange to me.

The box is sturdy and heavy, likely made of plastic or wood. The portrait frame styling is perfect.

At the bottom of the bottle there is the inscription AFNAN and the number 2. The sticker again says that this is Extrait de parfum, but below it the content of denatured alcohol is 80%.

The cap just pops off the bottle. It's tight, and I couldn't figure out how to open it.

The lid is heavy, metal, and covered with enamel on top.

Customers have experienced perfume leaking from the base of the atomizer.

The sprayer doesn't work well—it only produces large sprays or a stream.

The amazing aroma brightens everything. I gave some to the young people at the Order Pickup Point, and they loved it.

At first, it reminded me of a blend of tobacco and vanilla, plus Tuscan leather and raspberry, from, so to speak, our Tom Ford. After the second spray, I understood. How could I have forgotten—that's what trouble means. When I was little, I'd visit my father at work at the editorial office, and I'd inhale this unique blend of leather cases and camera covers, film, chemicals, cigarette smoke, hot lamps, and government-issued furniture.
The person who created this fragrance is a genius—to so accurately convey the atmosphere of a photo lab—it's not like trying to slap flowers on a fantasy theme.

Only TF has ever managed to shake me up in perfumery like that.

I'm sitting here inhaling, like a cat inhaling valerian.

I don't know if this perfume is worth defending, as it was made three years ago and has had time to not only mature, but also age. Its longevity is likely about four hours, like most Arabic perfumes, but this perfume isn't about longevity or shocking anyone. It's about bringing nostalgia to those who have a reason to be.

Even the box and bottle are the color of the red lantern in the lab. A great niche perfume. Bravo!
