The short career of the genius Thomas Carlyle Ford (American designer and film director) gave impetus not only to the design of clothes and accessories, but also to perfumery.
Consequently, not only has a huge number of brands bluntly copying Tom Ford fragrances emerged, but also manufacturers developing Tom Ford's signature lines and adding their own twist. Almost every manufacturer has either copies or their own interpretation of Tom Ford fragrances.
To get a taste of Tom Ford's creations, you don't have to buy a bottle of perfume for several hundred dollars - almost every mass market store sells several Alan Bray creations based on Tom Ford.
In this case, it's Amber & Wood. The perfume comes in the standard dark box for this line. I'll note that everywhere possible, it's labeled "Extrait de parfum," meaning extract or perfume. It's not supposed to be an eau de toilette, but if you look at the alcohol content, it's stated at 79%. So, of the remaining 20%, we have to subtract at least 10% for water, leaving a maximum of 10% for the concentrate itself. This perfume doesn't even qualify as an eau de parfum, but rather as an eau de toilette.
The bottom of the box clearly states that this perfume is a luxury class perfume.
The perfume is manufactured by Cosmoprom 2000 LLC in Reutov (Russia).
The bottle design is truly luxurious - a heavy gradient bottle with an equally heavy metal cap.
The perfume has a unique sweetish-woody scent with hints of musk.
I could certainly describe the scent of this product at length, but unfortunately, it's pointless – it lasts a maximum of a couple of hours on my skin. Yes, it's longer than Alan Bray Tobacco & Vanile, but that's of no practical use other than using it as an aftershave.
I didn't notice any sillage or anything particularly special. Considering the $10 price tag on sale, you could even use it to wipe down the interior of an expensive car. It's reminiscent of cheap Chinese watering cans. Keep in mind that this one was still sitting in the store.
It's an odd sensation compared to some of the more intense, timeless eau de toilettes from Alan Bray.
