IQOS ILUMA i One Tobacco Heating System Review

Much water has flowed under the bridge since the review IQOS 3 DUOS and the system still works, but the battery no longer holds a charge as well.

About five years ago, Philip Morris started selling induction-based tobacco heating systems. ILUMA sticks didn't fit the older systems, and vice versa. I remember seeing tons of videos on how to insert foil into Heets sticks.

Some stores supplied new induction-based tobacco heating systems to Russia, but this type of tobacco heating did not become widespread in Russia due to the high cost and difficulty of acquiring sticks.

And finally, I was able to purchase a tobacco heating system with an induction system.

Is there time at this stage to buy a tobacco heating system when there is POD система Plonq Meta Smart with a cut-off for puffs and time - this is a debatable issue.

It's impossible to say that the One device is compact - it's quite long and noticeably heavy, and this is a necessity: you need space for the stick chamber, the electronics, and the button with the connector, and you can't forget about the battery, which provides twenty smoking sessions.

The body is made of aluminum alloy. The button doesn't have a rubber coating like the version without the i-suffix, which is a good thing—rubber will degrade over time anyway.

The button only functions as an on/off switch; the device has an autostart function and begins working immediately after the stick is inserted and automatically stops working after six minutes or 14 puffs. The device also turns off if the stick is removed without finishing smoking it.

The indicator shows the battery level simply by turning the device.

The stick chamber is covered with a convenient cover that runs smoothly and effortlessly.

If you shine a flashlight, you can see the guide strips in the chamber. You can't rotate the stick on its axis. The chamber is sealed and can be easily cleaned with a cotton swab and alcohol.

When trying to register a device using a QR code, the site returns an error.

The IQOS ILUMA i One has a USB Type-C charging port with an input voltage of 5 volts and a current of 2 amps. A full charge takes approximately 70 minutes.

It's good that IQOS continues to come with a high-quality cable for charging and firmware updates.

In this case, the cable is not branded.

Since ILUMA devices do not have a blade for heating tobacco, and heating is carried out by induction heating of a metal strip in the stick, special sticks are required, which these metal strips have in the sticks.

Naturally, the increase in production costs leads to an increase in the price of sticks, which are more expensive than standard Heets or Feet sticks.

They make excellent cigarettes in Armenia, but the quality of the TEREA sticks initially disappointed me - they crumpled when I tried to insert them into the chamber.

Then, probably, the sticks dried out and no problems arose.

It is stated that there is no need to clean the stick chamber.

However, I wouldn't put much trust in claims that the heating chamber is completely clean, so I will clean it periodically.

TEREA sticks have more drums.

The heating plate is also claimed to be made of stainless steel, which is unlikely, as it is highly magnetic. Most likely, pure iron, which is resistant to corrosion, was used. The strip has curved ends that prevent it from moving in the tobacco.

Theoretically, it is possible to insert a used plate into the HEECHI sticks, but I was unable to do this - the plate simply bends inside and does not go through completely.

I didn't put the record in the Feet sticks - I have some Lono tobacco heating system and there is no desire to turn a good system into a simple IQOS.

Is it worth buying a new system? If you already have a heating system and are completely satisfied with it, then don't bother. I didn't notice any difference in taste, especially since the HEECHI sticks have a richer flavor.

If you're tired of constantly cleaning your IQOS and have the funds for the next-generation sticks, then it makes sense to upgrade the system.
