For this project you will need 2 D-rings with an inner diameter of at least 25mm. If you are using 1-2mm (3-4oz) leather you will need to double some of the pieces by gluing, but if you are using 2-3mm (6-7) oz vegetable tanned then glueing will not be necessary. Also make sure there is glue, paper tape (masking tape) at hand, as you will need it later.
