During an online conversation, I was told that there is a perfume from Gerini with a summer scent in the style of Creed Aventus.
Of course, there are questions about the durability of the previous perfumes Seductive Cinnamon, Coumarin, Heavenly wood from Gerini, but I hope that they will stand up to their strength and will ultimately be as long-lasting as stated.
This scent was not available anywhere except aroma-butik.ru.
I liked the way the store delivers the packages - not only are the perfume boxes packed in a shipping box, but they also come with proof of purchase, which is great because when forced to resell bottles or decants, it gives potential customers an extra incentive to buy.
It's also nice that the cellophane on the perfume box is sealed with a sticker, so it will still be visible when you open it.
I used to think that the packaging was original for a specific Gerini line, but now I understand that this packaging is used on Russian, Chinese, and other counterfeit products, and is the most common container for perfume products, mostly of dubious origin.
Retailer websites peddle the legend of fashion designer Juliana Gerini, the supposed creator of the casual style and, again, the designer of outfits for the Italian president. However, I was unable to find any information about this mythical woman. I also couldn't find a single European store that sells this perfume.
The patch immediately shows the Fresh Bergamout perfume pyramid:
Family: (woody-chypre fragrances)
Top notes:
Bergamot, apple, neroli
Heart notes:
Rose, patchouli, cedarwood
Base notes:
Suede, ginger, oakmoss, musk.
INGREDIENTS:
ALCOHOL DENAT. 62% VOL., AQUA, PARFUM, CITRAL, CITRONELLOL, FARNESOL, GERAN-IOL, D-LIMONENE, HYDROXYISOHEXYL 3-CYCLOHEXENE CARBOXALDEHYDE, LINALOOL
As you can see, the alcohol content is only 62%, which is consistent with modern perfumes (in the 20th century, the term "perfume" meant a different consistency).
FLAMMABLE
Do not spray on an open flame or other hot materials. Keep away from ignition sources. Do not smoke. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes or sensitive skin. Do not use for other purposes.
Myths also claim that the company is Italian, but there's no indication of this anywhere, and these particular perfumes are supposedly made in France.
I couldn't find a way to verify the batch code. The QR code simply leads to a page on geriniperfumes.com, which doesn't contain any information about the company. The website itself is hosted in the United States.
On the bottom of the box, a safety notice is provided, briefly summarized:
In a world where luxury perfumes are manufactured in factories and sold through mass advertising campaigns, creating a sense of uniqueness while millions of bottles are sold every day, GERINI believes the time has come for guaranteed authenticity. All GERINI perfumes are of the highest quality and are handcrafted to order.
This perfume has undergone a safety assessment and complies with the safety standards set by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Union Cosmetics Directive. GERINI is committed to providing products that are safe for the consumer and the environment and complies with IFRA regulations, ensuring compliance with the IFRA Skin Contact and Leave-In Care guidelines.
There is a large amount of paper inside the box to protect it from light.
The paper contains a pouch with the company logo and name, along with the words "EXTRAIT DE PARFUM," which also indicates that this is a concentrate. The pouch serves several functions: it improves presentation, protects against sudden temperature changes, and its black color protects against sunlight.
The bottle has a clean, clean shape and feels pleasant in the hand. The stripe with the EXTRAIT DE PAHFUM inscription is a different color for each fragrance.
The back of the bottle is engraved with the Gerini company name.
The bottle cap is made of wood with a plastic interior.
The spray from the spray bottle is ideal, finely dispersed and well-metered, unlike the Mancera spray bottles, which spit.
The base is engraved with an inscription. In this fragrance, the inscription runs in a single row around the perimeter.
I couldn’t find any numbers to check the batch code anywhere in the inscription or on the bottom of the bottles.
The bottom of the bottle features the company logo. Unlike other Gerini fragrances, there's no number on this bottle, nor on the bottles of other fragrances.
Here are a couple of photos of counterfeit Le Labo products. Similar counterfeit goods are sold on Russian markets under a variety of names.
This raises the question of whether it's worth buying the other fragrances from the unknown Gerini.
Fresh Bergamout is weak on the road – after driving, it's only noticeable close to the skin for half an hour, as is the case with all Gerini fragrances. Letting it sit doesn't significantly improve longevity.
Despite the questionable origins of Gerini perfumes, I like the scents themselves – there's something noble about them.
A pleasant citrus-apple scent, although citrus isn't listed. Fresh. Perfect for summer and spring. Perfect for the office.
The base isn't heavy. Very diffuse – when the vapor hits your nose, your nose immediately shuts down for several hours.
And yes, it's much better than the much-praised Cedrat Bois, which is completely different from Creed Aventus. In simple terms, Intense Cedrat Boise is like dried orange peels lying on dried-out fir branches after New Year's, while Gerini Fresh Bergamout is like fresh orange peel and bergamot, soaked in a mellow sparkling wine.
I liked the scent: it's modern and not heavy, despite the supposedly heavy pyramid.
