Review of the lil SOLID 3.0 Tobacco Heating System

The batteries on the lil SOLID 2.0 and iQOS 3 DUOS are slowly starting to run down, so I had to buy the lil SOLID 3.0 tobacco heating system because iQOS wasn't available in Krasnoye and Beloye.

I'm not a fan of the outdated system of penetrating the stick with a heating element and then heating it. I'm also not a fan of heating the stick from the outside through paper, which then triggers coughing. There are modern tobacco heating systems that use radiation to heat the metal foil already inside the stick at the factory.

Given that modern tobacco heating systems in Russia are only available unofficially at astronomical prices, let's come down to earth.

To start using the device, you need to hold the power button for two seconds or insert the USB charging cable.

All components in the iQOS and lil SOLID 3.0 are top-notch and last for years, unlike most vape devices. The power supply features a fast-charging function, delivering 15 watts at 9 volts with a current of 1.67 amps or 10 watts at 5 volts with a current of 2 amps.

The USB Type C cable is unbranded. If I remember correctly, it fails where the cable connects to the connector. The outer insulation peels off, and then the cable breaks.

To open it, you need to bend it, applying force. There's no need to worry about breaking it—it's made of durable ABS plastic.

The lil SOLID 3.0 has a sticker that shows how to insert and remove the stick. It doesn't matter which way you twist the stick or how many times, as long as you use both longitudinal and rotational motion when inserting and removing it, otherwise the stick's contents might get stuck on the rod. The panels are not removable on the lil SOLID 3.0. The idea of ​​changing the panels didn't take off – no one needs it, although it is possible on iQOS.

The lil SOLID 3.0 button is square, small, and convenient. The perimeter of the button glows blue or green, depending on the mode. The glow also changes color at certain points. The button has a short, precise stroke. Naturally, a device of this caliber has no button chatter or other issues.

lil SOLID 3.0 has a fast charging function, but everything depends on the power supply.

To use the device, slide the lid open and insert the stick. Heating begins automatically. Some devices, including mine, occasionally shut off after a few seconds of heating. To fix this, press and hold the button for 8 seconds. The heating system will then reboot, and the button will flash in different colors.

The heating unit of the lil SOLID 3.0, unlike the lil SOLID 2.0, has been modified and now the heating element can be removed for cleaning.

First, pressing on the ends, we remove the upper part.

Then, also pressing on the ends, we remove the part directly with the heating element.

Visually, the heating element has a smaller diameter than that of the lil SOLID 2.0.

All parts of the lil SOLID 3.0 are as thin as those of the lil SOLID 2.0, but experience has shown that this does not affect operation in any way.

Cleaning has become much easier.

The first time, my heating block came off by itself.

But then it became impossible to remove the heating block without something like a paper clip. And I'm not the only one.

The lil SOLID 3.0 heats up better than the lil SOLID 2.0 and is close to the iQOS 3 DUOS. The lil SOLID 2.0 burns my stick like a nuclear reactor.
